How Recording Your Consulting Sessions Can Help You to Work Less and Get Paid More

2 min read

If you’re a coach or consultant, you’re probably finding that you spend a lot of time repeating advice.

While this is good for the client it’s not good for you. It’s a waste of your time.

So what can you do about it?

How about recording those sessions?

As the creator of over 157 hours of audio-interviews about business and marketing (several of which offer a consultation with me) this is what I do.

I get permission from the people to record the consultations, then I record them.

There are two great benefits from conducting those sessions this way.

Firstly, recording the sessions frees up your time. I can direct people with similar questions to areas on my website where they can get the answers they require in the form of digital audio.

This gives me more time to do the things I want to do – like going running, having lunch with my wife or playing with the kids.

The other great thing about recording your consultation sessions is that they can be used to increase the value of your information products.

For example, I might sell an interview with a marketing consultant for $97. But if I include an additional 10 hours of case studies – real life situations where I (or another consultant) help people over the phone – the perceived value of that product has increased considerably.

As a result, I can charge more for the product.

So what about it? Are you in a situation where you could record your consultation sessions?

If the answer is yes, do so and you’ll be getting paid more and working less. This can’t be a bad thing, can it?
